An Post, Swords is located in a Retail Unit in Swords Central Shopping Centre, Main St., Swords, Co. Dublin.
The Project is a pilot project in An Post’s Retail Concept for the upgrading of their branch network throughout the Country.
MCOH architects collaborated with the London based Branding Agency, I-AM Associates to develop a modern and dynamic retail concept which would offer standard Post Office services and also generate revenue from new opportunities.
The Project involved the fit out of a double height shell Retail Unit in the Shopping Centre. In order to maximise the retail space a mezzanine floor which overlooks the main retail space has been added. The mezzanine contains staff accommodation, storage and ancillary accommodation leaving the entire ground floor available for the retail offering.
The retail space is mostly double height and provides 6 Post Office Counter positions along with a Waiting Area. In addition the design reflects An Post’s desire to provide additional services and products to their existing customer base, through the provision of a central Customer Sales and Service Hub, separate financial product zone and enhanced self service area.
The finishes are predominantly white in appearance with extensive use of corian complimented by white oak wall panelling and green furnishings, reflecting An Post’s corporate identity.
The overall feeling of the Unit is contemporary and modern and pushes the An Post Brand ahead of other retail Bank Branches.
